Personal, Social and Health Education

At Nonsuch, we follow the Jigsaw PSHE whole-school resource to structure our teaching and learning experiences.

Jigsaw PSHE brings together Personal, Social, Health and Economic education, emotional literacy, social skills and spiritual development in a lesson-a-week programme.

Designed as a whole school approach, Jigsaw provides a comprehensive scheme of learning for Foundation Stage to Year 6.

Jigsaw holds children at its heart and its cohesive vision helps children understand and value who they are and how they fit and contribute to the world.

More information

Jigsaw consists of 6 Puzzles (half-term units of work) containing 6 Pieces (lessons). Each Piece has 2 Learning Intentions. One is based on specific PSHE learning  and the other is based on emotional literacy and social skills. These enhancements mean that Jigsaw is relevant to children living in today’s world as it helps them understand and be equipped to cope with modern issues such as body image, cyber and homophobic bullying, and internet safety.
